CONE BEAM COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY (CBCT)

CBCT technology is a highly sophisticated machine that provides a three dimensional image of the maxillofacial hard tissues. Three dimensional radiography allows the surgeon pin point where any important structures are before the surgery. The cone beam provides for a much safer and highly successful procedure. The CBCT is especially useful in both wisdom tooth extractions and implant surgery planning.

The CBCT would also allow the dentist to see any oral pathology that may not have been seen with just the two dimensional panoramic radiograph.
